Rheum rhubarbarum 'Crimson Red'
The Crimson red rhubarb is considered some of the best flavored rhubarb available with its ideal sweet-tart balance. The bright red stalks are edible where the heart shaped leaves are poisonous due to oxalic acid. Do not harvest the rhubarb the first year to allow the plant time to establish itself.
