Dawn Redwoods were once thought to be extinct until 1941 when it was discovered in a remote valley of a Chinese province. They now thrive all around the world. These trees don’t like to be planted close to other trees and their leaves change from green to an almost apricot color in the fall!

Growth Rate Fast, more than 2ft per year
Mature Size 70-100 ft tall;
Soil Grows in acidic, loamy, moist, sandy, well-drained, wet and clay soils. Prefers moist conditions, but has some drought and flooding tolerance
Light Full sun for optimal growth, receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day
Leaves Fine and feathery leaves, opposite in arrangement , flattened and about ½” long
Deer Browse Risk Low
Benefits Provides winter cover for birds, small mammals, and deer. Doesn’t require much maintenance and is a great shade tree.

Trees/Plants are primarily sold as Bare Root Stock. District Liability ceases when orders are picked up. Seller is not liable for improper handling or planting of plants after consumer has possession. The Blue Water CD is not liable nor guarantees survivability.
